Illusion of Gaia wouldn't be anything if not for its characters.
They are the reason the game is so complete.
If the characters had been dull, maybe this site would have neer been made today ^^
Instead of PCs and NPCs, think of a play, or a movie when playing IoG.

 | Will: The protagonist. You play as Will, an orphaned boy who, atfer his mother passing away, and after the following death of his father in the tower of Babel, returned to his only direct relatives left, his granparents. When he meets Gaia for the first time, Will discovers that he has psychic powers, and that his role is to fulfill Gaia's Will by rounding up the 6 mystic statues and chasing the Chaos Comet that is quickly approaching earth. An indirect but strong descendant of the knights of Darkness, Will is compelled by his power to fight for a cause not his own, but that of his ancestors. |
 | Kara: The female lead. Kara is the spoiled princess of the southern kingdom. Daughter of king Edward and Queen Edwina. Kara feels her life has been a waste so far in this prison of silk and gold. Her parents are controlling wretches. Charmed by the possibility of escape, she asks for Will to take her away. Despite being a typical bother at first, Kara changes for the best during the journey. An indirect descendant of the knights of Light, Kara's power doesn't manifest before the end. |
 | Lance: Will's best friends amongst the "Seaside Cave 4". Lance lives with his frail mother in South Cape, by the docks. Lance is a determined young man, trying his best to stick with his fleeting friend Will. He will go on to travel alongside him and support him. Strong and dependable, he resembles Lilly in many ways. |
 | Erik: Erik is the youngest on this adventture. Son of the richest man in town, he lives in the biggest house with his numerous siblings. Despite a slight bladder problem and shaky self-confidence, Erik is loyal and just. His ideas are straight, and he proves useful when needed. Being the youngest in his family, he is subject of great injustice, and cannot tolerate the prejudice of people. |
 | Seth: The Brain; every group has one. Seth is a scholar. His desire is to become a scientist. Seth is the first to admit he wants escape and adventure. His parents are constantly fighting, and slowly forgetting about him. Seth seeks refuge in books and exploration. |
 | Lilly: A girl protected by the flower spirit of Itory Village, Lilly is slow to bloom and show her beauty. She hides her feelings behind a strong, confident, and often unaproachable facade. Lilly is headstrong and bold. She is a bit of a tomboy. She helps Will escape from the sewers under Edwards's dungeon, and helps Kara and he take refuge in the hidden Itory Village.. |

 | Bill: Will's Grandfather, Bill was an architect. He built the dungeons of King Edward's castle. Bill lived in Itory with Lola and their daughter, Sylia, until they came to South Cape to raise Will. |
 | Lola: Will's Grandmother, a great singer, and a caring tutor. She came to South Cape with her husband Bill and moved in to raise Will after the unfortunate loss of his father. |
 | Neil: Will's Distant cousin, Neil spends most of his time in the desert, thinking his days away, coming up with trailblazing inventions. Neil lives away from civilisation, but lusts for adventure. When Will shows up, it is the perfect opportunity to discover the world. |
 | The Gambler: The gambler, a nameless man, lives in watermia, and lives off the Russian Glasses game. He is the undisputed champion of the game, and has lived up to now. He hopes for the day to come when he will be defeated by another player. The gambler stopped counting how many men he killed at the fatal game. |
 | Hamlet: Kara's pet piglet. Hamlet is incredibly faithful to his mistress, and follows her around the world despite the distance. |
 | Ishtar: The painter. Ishtar lives in a cave that connects directly to the angels' underground village. Ishtar is a solitary man, who keeps to himself. Those in search of his talents have to brave the dangers of the subterranean corridors that lead to his abode. Ishtar paints the impassible angels into human beings, giving them life on the canvas. |
 | Itory Elder: The elder is a quiet and introspective old man, with little patience for younger people. He hands over the incan statue to Will, but only because he is special. He also sends Lilly to guide Will in the ruins. |
 | King Edward and Queen Edwina: Kara's parents, power-driven monarchs with nothing else in mind but to abuse their daughter's hidden powers, which they know about. They try to steal Will's only legacy from his father, a crystal ring brought back from the tower of Babel. |
 | The Jackal A hired assasin, The Jackal's senses are overblown and hyper-sensitive. A sociopath, he has spent his life as a mercenary specialising in quiet assasinations. He is hired by Queen Edwina to recover Kara and bring her back to the castle. |
 | Mr. and Mrs. Rolek: Neil's parents, Will's aunt and uncle. The Roleks own a worldwide trading corporation, which also secretly deals in slave labor. They live in Euro City, in a humongous mansion bigger than the Mayor's house. |  |
 | The Vampires: Jack and Sylvana are the two vampiric guardians of Mu. They are the immortal remnants of the lost civilisation, and desire nothing but to leave the mortal plane once and for all. Will defeats them temporarily in Mu, and they depart, having failed their final duty. They are found again at the tower of Babel, and there they dwell for eternity, where their souls can rest in peace. |  |
